Benefits of membership

Our members have a diverse range of skills and backgrounds and they are happy to share their knowledge with native plant novices. As well as the many social opportunities that our organisation offers, our members enjoy the satisfaction of growing, protecting and promoting Australia’s extraordinary native plants.

When you become a member of Native Plants Queensland, you will be able to:

  • Take part in social meet-ups, bushwalks, garden visits and speaker nights.
  • Obtain free native seed from the Native Plants Queensland Seed Bank.
  • Receive quarterly issues of the ‘Native Plants Queensland Journal’.
  • Join one (or more) of our NPQ branches* and get involved in local bushcare or plant propagation projects.
  • Propagate and sell your own plants at one of our Native Plant Markets.
  • Participate in one of the ANPSA Study Groups to learn more about a particular group of plants or plant communities.
  • Attend Native Plant Society Conferences in Queensland and interstate.

New members will also receive an Information pack including a welcome letter, Information booklet & brochures

2024 – 2025 Rates

Ordinary Memberships

Full Year – $40
(1 April to 31 March)

Half-year 50% discount option available from 1 October to 31st January. New applications from 1st February automatically continue to 31st March in the following year. 

Student Memberships

Full Year – $20
(1 April to 31 March)

No half-year option available.

Proof of full-time study required.

New applications from 1st February automatically continue to 31st March in the following year.

Additional Members

Ordinary and Student Memberships can include additional members at the same address for no additional fee.

Organisation Memberships

Full Year – $40
(1 April to 31 March)

When applying for membership you are asked to confirm (by tick-box on the online form or by signature on the PDF form) that you have read and accepted the rules of the society and our privacy policy.

Membership with Native Plants Queensland may be taken out by individuals or organisations.
Please supply full names for all parties for both membership and insurance purposes. Membership is primarily available within Australia. Because of high international postage rates Memberships outside Australia are not entitled to receive printed versions of our publications by mail but will instead be offered electronic versions of these publications.
