Native Plants Seed Bank

Elaeocarpus obovatus

The Native Plants Queensland seed bank is an important part of our conservation and cultivation efforts.

Myall Park Botanic Garden Flowers

We welcome contributions of cleaned, labelled native seeds for our collection. Contributions can be made by NPQ members and the general public.

Seed in the bank is available exclusively to NPQ Members.

Members are entitled to request free seed from the Seed Bank which is also posted free of charge. This is an important service of the organisation. It allows members to propagate many species that are not readily available.

In doing so, members obtain valuable information on the germination and cultivation of these species under different conditions. To make your request (or contribute) contact our Seed Curator, Bethlea Bell:  seedbank@npq.org.au

Seed held in the Seed Bank is donated by members and the public, so availability can be variable.

There are some rules and limits to ordering seed from our bank. To find out more please click below to read the Seed Bank Policy.
