    Samford Branch Meeting

    Meeting: ‘Potential use of Australian crop wild relatives in agriculture and food production’ by Professor Robert Henry, Director of QAAFI. 7.30 p.m.

    Logan River Branch Propagation Group

    On the first Thursday of the month our group meets at Eagleby Community Nursery for a propagation morning. We use different propagating techniques, growing plants from seeds and cuttings as well as grafting.  

    We grow many different kinds of plants, from grevilleas and callistemons to butterfly host plants and bush tucker plants, and the resulting plants are shared amongst members or sold at one of Native Plants Queensland's regional Plant Markets.

    Pine Rivers Branch Quarterly Meeting

    Meeting - 12 noon at Kumbartcho - Subject: AGM; Workshop on small plants currently available in the nursery; we will review the current Kumbartcho species list and identify the species most suited to small gardens. Come early to browse the plants in Kumbartcho nursery. (Nursery closes 12 noon)

    Visitors and members are welcome to our Sunday afternoon meeting at Kumbartcho Environmental Education Centre, 15 Bunya Pine Ct, Eatons Hill. Please BYO afternoon tea.

    We have a guest speaker to tell us about some interesting aspect of native plants. We also share our knowledge gained from growing Aussie plants in our own gardens, bring along specimens for ‘show and tell’, host a plant exchange for those who've brought along their pots, and browse the range of plants for purchase from the Kumbartcho nursery.

    Mackay Branch Propagation Group

    Our propagation group usually holds nursery sessions from 7.30am on the last Thursday morning of each month at the branch's nursery at Queens Park. The main objective of the group is to grow and promote native species suitable for local conditions, for members, public plant sales and for special projects. Excursions to collect seed and propagating material are also held from time to time and members can purchase our plants all year round.
