    Mackay Branch Propagation Group

    Our propagation group usually holds nursery sessions from 7.30am on the last Thursday morning of each month at the branch's nursery at Queens Park. The main objective of the group is to grow and promote native species suitable for local conditions, for members, public plant sales and for special projects. Excursions to collect seed and propagating material are also held from time to time and members can purchase our plants all year round.

    Logan River Branch Propagation Group

    On the first Thursday of the month our group meets at Eagleby Community Nursery for a propagation morning. We use different propagating techniques, growing plants from seeds and cuttings as well as grafting.  

    We grow many different kinds of plants, from grevilleas and callistemons to butterfly host plants and bush tucker plants, and the resulting plants are shared amongst members or sold at one of Native Plants Queensland's regional Plant Markets.

    Brisbane's Western Suburbs branch meets regularly on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm. We meet at the Chapel Hill State School in a room under the Resource Centre at the end of the long parking area. For further meeting information please contact Western Suburbs branch.

    6 August, 7pm: Ross Muller will give an illustrated talk about the wonderful Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne, Melbourne. These famous Gardens specialise in native plants.

    3 September, 7pm: Barry Jahnke has explored Victoria and will show us the fascinating area from the Grampians to Angelsea.

    1 October, 7pm: Paul Taylor will tell us the interesting story of his inner-city plantings in his small garden and the steep bank on the street. Paul specialises in the less common native plants and we can learn from his experience.

    Logan River branch meetings are held outdoors at a local national park, council reserve or botanic gardens, or at a branch member's house where members are able to visit their garden. The branch meetings always commence with a shared morning tea and finish with lunch for those who like to stay on.
