Myall Park Botanic Garden

Myall Park Botanic Garden is located 380km from Brisbane in southwest Queensland, 7km north of the township of Glenmorgan.
Established in 1941 by Dave and Dorothy Gordon as a private collection of Australian natives. Most notably home of Grevillea ‘Robyn Gordon’; G. ‘Sandra Gordon’; G. ‘Merinda Gordon’ and G. ‘Dorothy Gordon’.
The garden covers 132ha with public access, three accommodation buildings, powered and non-powered camping; art gallery and a gift shop plus associated facilities [toilet/ shower block, botanic trails, picnic shelters, bird hide etc]; own water supply for accommodation and gardens with extensive irrigation distribution; 240 power; fixed line and mobile communications. There are no liabilities.
Myall Park Botanic Garden has been managed by a Board of honorary directors for the past 35 years under a 99 year State Government lease [from 1992]. This lease remains valid as long as business practice is botanical. This form of community management is no longer sustainable.
